Duties & Responsibilities Of Tvm Teachers

THE TVM TEACHER MUST……..

❖ Report on duty at least five minutes before the reporting time prescribed by the school authorities, since punctuality is the basic aspect of discipline which we intend to inculcate in our students.

❖ Wait after the school hours to complete the allotted school work in case the situation demands so.

❖ Be modestly dressed so as to set an example to their students & wear identity card in order to display the same while on campus.

❖ Converse with students and fellow teachers in the campus in English only.

❖ The attendance of the students in the class register daily.

❖ Closely monitor the student’s attendance and prepare monthly defaulter list and send a letter to the student’s parents informing them about the default. A copy of the letter should be placed in student’s personal file in consultation with respective H.M.

❖ Maintain the Teacher’s log book regularly with the lesson plan.

❖ Reach the class on time for teaching.

❖ Evaluate the students from time to time & submit the report to the H.M, Vice-Principal, Principal & In-Charge Trustee monthly. ❖ The teachers who are also Subject In -charge will Conduct regular meetings and discuss the method to improve the performance of student in the subject.

THE TVM TEACHER SHOULD……..

❖ Prepare well each and every aspect of the lesson before the delivery of the lesson. Use of text book or reference book should be as minimum as possible while teaching in the class.

❖ Motivate the student before the actual delivery of the lesson.

❖ Link the topic with the previous knowledge of the students.

❖ Develop and use relevant teaching aid.

❖ Use combination of different methods and techniques of teaching.

❖ Create a learning environment for the students by decorating the board with noble work of great personalities to inspire the students.

❖ Display clearly the time table of the class. Make conscious efforts to improve etiquettes, manners and discipline in every student. Similarly, efforts must be made to inculcate reading, writing and communication skills particularly in English.

❖ Make best use of the laboratory and use models, lab equipment, apparatus to show experiments to the children, on a regular basis.

❖ Make a schedule for the practical and ensure that the entries in the records and files are not copied from each other. ❖ Give project work, evaluate it and record the marks/grades.

❖ Encourage the students to prepare and participate in science exhibition and help them to prepare working models.

❖ Ensure that no controversial remarks with reference to my social/ religious/ personal issue will be made either inside or outside the classroom. Personal remarks or gossip of any kind be strictly avoided while on campus in general and in staff room in particular.

❖ Encourage students develop reading habit by consulting various science journals, magazines etc.

❖ Hold class talks and assembly talks on various topics relevant to level of students.

❖ Identify the gifted, slow learner, problem children, under achievers etc in order to help them achieve according to their needs and abilities.

❖ Help check truancy and long absenteeism among students.

❖ Collect and compile information related to career and education from sources like newspapers, magazines etc. and display it through charts, posters, and bulletin boards.

❖ Organize career melas, career exhibitions, counseling camps in the school on Saturdays and Sundays.

❖ Have regular meetings with parents to keep them informed and guide them about the progress of their ward/wards.

❖ Discuss among themselves, prepare a schedule and distribute the home work as per the schedule to avoid over burdening of the students.

❖ Spend at least one hour in library on every Saturday to update their knowledge and keep a record of the books read by them and one hour in the computer laboratory in order to improve the level of computer knowledge.

❖ Address the student on the moral principles, social and environment issues.

THE TVM TEACHER SHOULD NOT……..

❖ Leave the assembly or the class unattended at any cost.

❖ Use only telling method, without any discussion or interaction.

❖ Use guides, help books, as they hamper the thinking process.

❖ Humiliate the child or resort to corporal punishment.

❖ Carry mobile phones to class room.

❖ TVM Teachers can make a difference and at least live up to with Three Human Values (3HV) i.e. honesty, humanity and hard work to fulfill the TVM school motto and guiding principle.
